The 5th Annual Family Fun Day BBQ will be held at Kilbirnie Park on July 9th, 2016. This event is for the whole family. The entire day is geared around preventable injuries by giving away helmets to kids and youth in our communities. We have several activities for the family including Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Little Ray’s Reptiles, Bouncy Castles, Games, BBQ food, Fire Trucks, Hydro Ottawa bucket truck rides, and much much more!
The Family Fun Day BBQ is being held in support of a program called 'Plan-It Safe'. Corrine Langill and her team are dedicated to eliminating preventable childhood injuries in our city. Their mission is to increase local capacity, strengthen public policy, ensure effective programming and advocate for the creation of safe environments to reduce the toll injuries take on children and youth in Eastern Ontario. The Centre works in collaboration with many of the community partners who deliver injury prevention programming. Its core competencies are injury surveillance, research and program evaluation, consultation on program planning, implementation and evaluation, advocacy and professional and public education.
